Friends of Global Cleveland, FGC, is a professional development group aimed at connecting and engaging an emerging group of up and coming international young professionals in Greater Cleveland. We welcome, connect and advance international young professionals both on personal growth and career development.
The program consists of engaging with Greater Cleveland’s civic & business leaders, fostering supportive relationships with local communities, contributing to the growth of the international community, networking for both business development and personal advancement, receiving updates including economic development, members-only opportunities, professional development workshops and quarterly after-hours events.
Global Cleveland attracts, welcomes and connects international newcomers to economic and social opportunities in Cleveland and Cuyahoga County.
Mayor Frank G. Jackson
Frank George Jackson is an American attorney and politician who is currently the 57th Mayor of Cleveland, Ohio. He was first elected on November 8, 2005, unseating incumbent Jane Campbell, and re-elected in 2009 and 2013.
He will be speaking about the values of internationalism in Cleveland.

Joe Cimperman served 18 years on Cleveland City Council, where he distinguished himself as a champion of the diverse peoples and cultures of Greater Cleveland.
Dr Cory is a professor at Cleveland State University. Dr. Cory has presented his research for the Middle East Studies Association and the World Congress of Middle East Studies
Founder of InterCLE
Born in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, Moatasem was immersed early on in a multicultural environment. Has a Bachelor of Science in Biology and two Masters of Art degrees in Global Business and Global Politics.
President of FGC
Born in China, Yulu came to Cleveland in 2012 and currently works in Hanna Commercial Real Estate. She and the Friends are dedicated in serving international young professionals in Cleveland.

Companies that employ international students in Cleveland will set up booths. This will allow for some major progessional networking.
Prof. Stephen Cory will walk you around the world in this segment.
Upon your arrival to through the Arrival Terminal of InterCle 2017 you will be handed a passport. Go around the world as you visit each culture at their designated table. You will recieve different stamps from different tables. Anyone who completes their passport by recieving all the stamps will receive a FREE T-SHIRT!

The competition aims to gather video stories from international students or international individuals who have been residents of Cleveland for 5 years or less. The videos will be to promote your international experience in Cleveland.
The interCLE committee aims to recognize an inspiring story of an international student or immigrant who moved to Cleveland within the last five years. #myCLEstory is a contest to award the international student/immigrant who submits the best one-minute video story showing what Cleveland means to them, unique ways to promote Cleveland internationally, and how moving to Cleveland changed their life.
1. Video has to be 60 seconds or less
2. May be formated in promoting the #interCLE event
3. Creative and unique (make it your own!)
4. Other people may be included in the video
5. Recording in different locations in Cleveland is preferred
6. Must be less then 100MB File Size to upload
1. A Grand Prize - TBD
2. A gift card from a local Cleveland vendor
3. A feature in local media outlets, as well as the Friends of Global Cleveland marketing ads
All videos will be posted to the Friends of Global Cleveland and interCLE event Facebook page. Winners will be determined by the number of likes on their video via Facebook. Winners will be announced at the event on September 9th. Deadline to post submissions will be August 26th. The number of Facebook likes will be tallied at 3pm on September 9th.
